AsapSCIENCE is a community for people to learn and be entertained by the neatest aspects of science and life. With weekly videos covering biology, chemistry, physics, and more, AsapSCIENCE aims to transform the educational landscape by bridging the gap between traditional and digital platforms.
The primary focus of AsapSCIENCE is to create an educational community where people can not only learn, but actively ask questions and suggest ideas for further topics of interest. As the community has grown, many people have stepped in to offer their suggestions, as well as begun collaborations for future projects to help build a network of new-age science interest. With some videos already being translated into 9 languages, it’s ability to reach those from all walks of life grows every day.
AsapSCIENCE grew out of our passion for science and education. Having both completed our B.Sc in Biological Science at the University of Guelph, we found ourselves not only inspired to learn more about the world around us, but to share it with others. After finishing his teaching degree from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education and spending time within the Ontario school system, Gregory quickly began noticing the disconnect between traditional and digital educational platforms. With my experience in film and production, Gregory and I saw YouTube as an incredible medium to reach and educate people of all ages, while simultaneously entertaining them. After beginning AsapSCIENCE in June of 2012, the channel has seen an incredible amount of traffic and interest worldwide. Currently, it holds over 650,000 subscribers and more than 56 million views. And with the help of YouTube's Adsense program, it has become a viable and consistently growing source of income.
